Birds of America

Synopsis

What happens when the family glue starts to come unstuck? *Birds of America* explores this question through the seemingly ordinary yet deeply dysfunctional Tanager clan, orbiting the well-meaning but increasingly overwhelmed Morrie. For years, Morrie has shouldered the burden of his siblings' struggles: his brother Jay's aimless despair, and his sister Ida's desperate need for validation as a struggling photographer. Even Morrie’s own marriage to Betty has been put on hold, as they postpone starting a family until his chaotic life stabilizes. But when Morrie's carefully constructed world begins to unravel, the delicate balance of their codependent relationships is truly put to the test.
