Synopsis

In the whimsical world of *I've Heard the Mermaids Singing*, Polly, an endearing and somewhat chaotic secretary, secures a coveted position at Gabrielle's renowned art gallery. Driven by a passionate desire to become a professional photographer, Polly deeply admires Gabrielle, seeing her as an artistic muse and mentor. However, as Gabrielle rekindles a past romance with a younger painter, Mary, Polly's initial awe gives way to a complex blend of jealousy and disillusionment. The film explores the intricate dynamics of hero worship and the sometimes-harsh realities of discovering that those we admire may not be as perfect as they appear.
