Synopsis

Vast, unbound oceans now cover Earth, a consequence of melted polar ice caps in the distant future. Humanity clings to survival on colossal, makeshift atolls—drifting cities constructed from the debris of a drowned world. These communities live by primitive rules, their greatest fear embodied by ruthless marauder gangs who scour the watery wastes. Amidst this harsh existence, the arrival of a lone, enigmatic mariner to one such floating fortress sparks a chain of events. His unique adaptations to this water-dominated planet, coupled with his mysterious vessel, draw the attention of the atoll's inhabitants, who harbor a desperate, ancient secret that could lead to the discovery of a mythical dryland. *Waterworld* plunges viewers into an epic struggle for survival and the eternal human quest for hope amidst overwhelming adversity.
