Bekas

Synopsis

In war-torn early 1990s Iraq, the enchanting allure of Hollywood offers a vibrant escape for young Zana and Dana in *Bekas*. These two orphaned Kurdish brothers, deeply inspired by a fleeting glimpse of Superman on a dilapidated cinema screen, concoct an ambitious plan: journey to America, where their superhero idol will surely vanquish their troubles and bring peace. With only a trusty donkey, a worn-out map, and boundless childlike optimism, they embark on a perilous, often comedic, odyssey toward a dream that seems impossibly far yet utterly within reach.
