Conte de printemps

Synopsis

In Éric Rohmer's "A Tale of Springtime," Jeanne, a philosophy teacher, finds her carefully constructed world subtly challenged after an encounter with the younger Natacha. As their friendship blossoms, Natacha’s youthful idealism and troubled family life—specifically her disdain for her father's new partner—begin to stir deeper reflections within Jeanne about her own choices and the compromises of adulthood. The film explores the intricate dance of perceptions and ideals across generations, as Jeanne grapples with the echoes of her past in Natacha’s present.
