Synopsis

Can true genius ever truly be understood, or merely copied? In *Copying Beethoven*, Vienna, 1824, becomes the crucible for an unlikely partnership when aspiring composer Anna Holtz is tasked with assisting the legendary, yet volatile, Ludwig van Beethoven. As the maestro, plagued by deafness and ill health, endeavors to complete his monumental Ninth Symphony, Anna finds herself navigating the turbulent waters of his creative process and his demanding personality. This opportunity to transcribe his final masterpiece challenges her own artistic aspirations and forces her to confront the very nature of inspiration and legacy.
