Ha'berech

Synopsis

In Nadav Lapid's "Ha'berech," a renowned Israeli filmmaker grappling with his mother's grave illness travels to a remote desert village to present one of his films. His true purpose, however, extends beyond the screening. He intends to cast a local woman in a project that challenges conventional narratives, sparking an intense dialogue with a government official about artistic freedom, national identity, and the very act of storytelling. The tension escalates as personal and political convictions clash, forcing both men to confront their deeply held beliefs.
