Lo straniero

Synopsis

Michel, a detached and seemingly indifferent man, navigates the sun-baked streets of Algiers following his mother's death. His lack of outward grief at the funeral stirs unease among those around him, a prelude to the inexplicable act that will shatter his ordinary existence. One scorching afternoon, on a desolate beach, he finds himself embroiled in a fatal encounter, pulling the trigger with an unsettling absence of discernible motive. This single, impulsive act sets in motion a stark legal drama, forcing Michel to confront not only the consequences of his actions but also the societal expectations of sorrow and justification he seems incapable of fulfilling. *Lo straniero* explores the isolating journey of a man ostracized for his very being, trapped in a justice system that demands emotional transparency he cannot provide.
