The Ice Storm

Synopsis

Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" deftly peels back the veneer of 1970s suburban tranquility in New Canaan, Connecticut. As the Watergate scandal ripples through the nation, two affluent families, the Hoods and the Carvers, navigate a landscape of marital discontent, adolescent angst, and burgeoning sexual experimentation. Their intertwined lives are set against a backdrop of societal shifts, culminating in a fateful Thanksgiving weekend as a severe ice storm mirrors the emotional chill descending upon them.
