Synopsis

On a desolate island retreat, a fragile family grapples with unspoken truths and mounting psychological strain in Ingmar Bergman's *Through a Glass Darkly*. Recently discharged from a mental institution, Karin struggles to navigate reality while her husband, Martin, finds himself increasingly unable to reach her. Her father, David, a celebrated author, remains emotionally distant, absorbed in his own intellectual world, while her younger brother, Minus, yearns for connection amid the stifling atmosphere. As the isolation deepens and Karin's grip on sanity loosens, the thin veneer of familial harmony begins to fracture, exposing raw nerves and the terrifying precipice of an unknown future.
